3 Ring Circus Fundraiser!

Our first major fundraiser, 3 Ring Circus, was a huge success! Over 150 people from all over the city came to our corner of Kensington to experience the neighborhood, learn more about our organization, and enjoy a magical evening of music, performance, and local food & spirits! There were live musical performances by West Philadelphia Orchestra, Chickabiddy, and Conversations, plus a set by DJs Costella and Romain! The Resource Exchange + FringeArts (Tribe of Fools)

Tribe of Fools uses salvaged items from The Resource Exchange in their upcoming FringeArts production, Two Street – A Tale of Star Crossed Mummers. Set designer Chris Haig (and July 2014 reCreate Featured artist) picked up a whole bunch of old framed coats of arms (just like these ones- still available in the store!) for the set of this new piece of theatre.   Here’s more about the show: Two Mummers brigades, both alike in dignity. The Resource Exchange + Tribe of Fools

The Tribe of Fools bought 17 sheets of reclaimed homasote to pad the floor of their stage for all of the parkour, acrobatics, and related mayhem happening in their Fringe Show Antihero, which opened last night! Do you hate the Philadelphia Parking Authority? Who doesn’t?  Antihero is one man’s quest to topple this corrupt institution. . . with his fists. Filled with fighting, parkour, and acrobatics, Antihero is a satire about our cultural obsession with vigilantes, violence, and heroes who do the wrong things for the “right” reasons.  Homasote is an item we have donated to us frequently from local film shoots.  Because it’s reused, we … Continue reading
