Expanded Reclaimed Art and Craft Supply Section!

We’re thrilled to see more and more reusable materials being donated to The Resource Exchange and being reused by our creative community! Just last week we sorted and priced all of these donations and added them to our new Art Supplies section, with gently used and “new-to-you” items being added daily.  Artist paints (oil, acrylic, and watercolors), charcoal, pastels, sketch pads, paintbrushes, fine art markers and colored pencils, mat board, fine art and craft paper, canvas, frames, stencils, block printing tools, drafting supplies… Plus crafting essentials including: construction paper, glue sticks, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, craft sticks, pom poms, felt, … Continue reading

From Movie Set to Community Garden!

We are so happy to see another community project made possible with reclaimed lumber saved from a film set! Check out what The Germantown Mennonite Historic Trust has built!:  “We have found great use for the reclaimed wood that we purchased from you. We built a 4’x16’x2′ garden bed, the first in what we hope will eventually become a community garden at the Germantown Mennonite Historic Trust…I’ve put in a few plants and will send more images of the growing veggies soon. The Resource Exchange + William McKinley School

Wendy Goldberg, a 2nd grade teacher at nearby McKinley Elementary School recently purchased reclaimed materials from the re to decorate her classroom.   She used textured fiber paper and brightly colored cotton fabric to cover display boards and edged them with salvaged paper borders in contrasting colors!  Looks like a great learning environment as well as a perfect opportunity for kids to learn about reuse.  Here’s Wendy description in her own words… “purple material & yellow borders really brighten the library area” “Everybody is loving the “classy-ness” of the textured material I used for our Word Wall.  Also from [the re] … Continue reading
