“Angels in Motion” Use Reclaimed Mural Cloth in Addiction Awareness Project

Lisa Kelley is one of the directors of Angels in Motion, a non-profit that started with one woman’s efforts to rescue her child from the disease of addiction. While searching the streets of Kensington for her son, Carol Rostucher saw that many other children and loved ones were suffering and lost as well. She began AIM as a way to help as many people living on the streets as possible. The Resource Exchange Gets a Mural by Chroma Dolls!

We’re incredibly happy to have Chroma Dolls painting a new mural on the side of our building! Chroma Dolls was chosen to represent Philly in partnership with Beautify Earth and Zappos in a 10 city, 10 mural, 10 core value project.  The design of the mural represents the theme that was assigned to Philly: building a positive team and family spirit. “The goals of this project are to put an end to blighted walls by empowering artists, encouraging social responsibility, and instilling community pride.” We’re thrilled that Chroma Dolls chose The Resource Exchange wall and corner to creatively express togetherness and brighten up … Continue reading

Local Warehouse Clean-out and Huge Art Supply Donation!

  We now have loads of items for sale in the store thanks to a large, local donation! A warehouse in South Kensington was once a storage center for local arts and craft supply stores. In it were hundreds of boxes of materials that never made it out for distribution.     The re staff got down and dirty cleaning out the warehouse, saving hundreds of pounds of materials from landfill!   As you can see, it was no easy task, but that is merely a testament to how absolutely dedicated we are to our mission!   Some of the new … Continue reading
