A Community Celebration with Greenworks Review!

Philadelphia’s Office of Sustainability released the latest issue of their annual magazine Greenworks Review this week! The Resource Exchange team joined local educators and environmental advocates in the Climate and Urban Systems Partnership’s Climate City to celebrate and reflect on the many ways Philadelphians are working towards a more just and environmentally friendly future.  The Greenworks Review put a spotlight on environmental education for the youth of Philadelphia as well as adults through community-led projects. The Repurpose Project: Temple U’s Sustainable Event Management Course visits the re!

Temple University’s School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management partnered with The Resource Exchange to create The Repurpose Project. The Project is part of the Sustainable Event Management Course within the Event Leadership Certificate. The overall goal of STHM Sustainable Event Management course is to better educate students about environmentally friendly initiatives in the event and meeting planning industry. Students are provided with resources and tools to needed to become socially responsible future leaders of event and meeting industry. Art of the Protest: Using Salvaged Materials to Speak Out!

Have you heard about the Art of the Protest workshop series? Mural Arts Philadelphia in partnership with The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts  has been co leading a series of panels and workshops with Signs of Solidairty encouraging people to make powerful and creative statements that ignite social change through support of local, national, and global causes. This event series challenges artists and non-artists alike to explore how artistic expression can activate a movement. We’re thrilled that Mural Arts asked us to be a part of this awesome series of workshops!
