Reclaimed “River Beasts and Besties!”

Beth from Ethnologica, a research consultancy firm with a focus on community-based ethnography, recently came into The Resource Exchange to find reclaimed materials to use in their storytelling and art workshop River Beasts and Besties. The event, held at The Barn at Bartram’s Garden, was made possible by an Ecotopian Toolkit award from the Penn Program in Environmental Humanities for Ethnologica’s project entitled Monsters of the Deep, Myths for the Future. The Resource Exchange Gets a Mural by Chroma Dolls!

We’re incredibly happy to have Chroma Dolls painting a new mural on the side of our building! Chroma Dolls was chosen to represent Philly in partnership with Beautify Earth and Zappos in a 10 city, 10 mural, 10 core value project.  The design of the mural represents the theme that was assigned to Philly: building a positive team and family spirit. “The goals of this project are to put an end to blighted walls by empowering artists, encouraging social responsibility, and instilling community pride.” We’re thrilled that Chroma Dolls chose The Resource Exchange wall and corner to creatively express togetherness and brighten up … Continue reading
