The Resource Exchange + The Arden Theatre Company: Celebrating Years of Saving Sets!
In 2012 The Resource Exchange and The Arden Theatre Company saved tons of lengths of rough cut poplar and giant barn doors from their production of Charlotte’s Web. Donating the lumber to The Resource Exchange instead of sending it to landfill enabled our creative customers to reuse the wood in local projects. The barn doors were given a second life in The Philadelphia Sculpture Gym’s warehouse space, and we were thrilled when Little Berlin decided to use the poplar to build their community vegetable garden. SPLIT Spot-The-Props!
Remember Highlight’s Hidden Pictures? Well we love to play Resource-Exchange-Spot-The-Props when movies that we work with come out! We get to see how materials we saved from landfill got used in the scenes, and also spot all of the cool props and decor that they donated to us after the film was shot! SPLIT, M. Reused Materials Electrify Keystone Mini Golf!
Our neighbors at Keystone Mini Golf come into the re all time for odds and ends to help keep up their hip Kensington hot spot. Most recently they came in for some kite fabric, trim, and a reclaimed key to create this Ben Franklin inspired addition to one of the holes on the course. They also picked up some lumber that the re team saved from the set of a production at The Arden Theatre and used it to build this cozy little bench!
