Liz Silbaugh – March 2017
Painting and building have always been my favorite things to do – who knows why? I’m drawn to adventure and exploring new territory, maybe because I grew up in the west. Even here in my beloved adopted home of Philly I look to the distance and to the sky for inspiration and a feeling of artistic freedom to roam.
I love the untold, unremembered, and unknown stories hidden in reused materials. There’s a feeling in them of family sharing and resisting cold, shiny newness, the way hand-me-down clothes for children have so much more meaning and depth than the expensive new stuff from store racks.
