Moving has given us the chance to reorganize and build store fixtures that will make our space better than ever…and we’re of course using reclaimed materials to do it! The Resource Exchange + The Arden Theatre Company: Celebrating Years of Saving Sets!

In 2012 The Resource Exchange and The Arden Theatre Company saved tons of lengths of rough cut poplar and giant barn doors from their production of Charlotte’s Web. Donating the lumber to The Resource Exchange instead of sending it to landfill enabled our creative customers to reuse the wood in local projects. The barn doors were given a second life in The Philadelphia Sculpture Gym’s warehouse space, and we were thrilled when Little Berlin decided to use the poplar to build their community vegetable garden. We’re Expanding and Moving in 2019!

The Resource Exchange and the NextFab North maker space are moving to 1800 N. American Street, a 60,000+ square foot building along the American Street Improvement Project Corridor, as both organizations prepare to scale. This synergistic collaboration will leverage the strengths of both of our organizations by combining NextFab’s tools, technology, and training with The Resource Exchange’s reclaimed materials and sustainable arts mission and programs. The large industrial scale of this new location provides an increased footprint for both organizations, including multiple loading docks, a large shared parking lot, and enough square footage for additional aligned subtenants.
