Reclaimed Materials turned into GOLD!

Former reCreate Featured Artist Kristie Landry found all the materials she needed at the Resource Exchange to create a beautiful 50th wedding anniversary party for her parents. Amongst the materials she found at the re were envelopes, wrapping paper, a hole punch, fabric, a photo album, decorative paper and rub-on letters. “My parent’s 50th anniversary party was supplied by the Resource Exchange from top to bottom!”

She made invitations for the 50th (gold) anniversary party by using gold envelopes that were embossed with someone else’s name and wedding dates. She used a decorative paper hole punch to remove the old names to create her new envelopes! “The gold envelopes had an embossed stamp on the flap that I punched out with the hole punch. I then used the gold wrapping paper to fill in the hole and to line the envelopes for a great look.”

She also made table runners using 18 small pieces of gold fabric found at the re. She sewed 2 pieces together to make 9 runners. “They looked so great on the tables!”

She even found a gold photo album that she turned into a guest book using decorative paper and rub-on lettering she found in our scrapbooking section!

With just a cut, this bear paper turned into lovely gold and white marbled pages for the guest book!

“I always enjoy shopping at the Resource Exchange because the materials drive my creativity! Thank you so much.”

Thank you, Kristie! We love seeing how creative our customers get with their projects using reclaimed materials diverted from landfill! Why buy new?!
