TerraCycle’s latest reuse projects!

We’ve written before about TerraCycle, the Trenton-based international upcycling and recycling company that collects difficult-to-recycle packaging and products and repurposes the material into affordable, innovative products. This 2013 Blog Post describes what TerraCycle does and shows how they used shadow boxes that the Resource Exchange saved from a Walnut Street Theater production to make a “museum wall” of the company’s history and products.

In 2014, the re staff visited TerraCycle and we wrote a Blog Post about how they turned giant umbrellas that we saved from the Philadelphia Flower Show into shade umbrellas in their courtyard!

With reuse at the core of their mission, they’ve also furnished and outfitted their headquarters largely with reclaimed materials.  Most recently, they came to us looking for something they could turn into desks and tables.  The large tabletop pictured below, now in Terracycle’s meeting room, was saved from the set of a movie!  Other pieces of the table top were turned into standing desks.

And the giant umbrellas from the Flower Show?  They’re looking better than ever newly covered with salvaged billboard vinyl!
