Experimental Pinhole Photography Workshop

With Halloween upon us, it’s time to push your pinhole photography to the outer limits! If you’re new to pinhole photography, have no fear! You will learn how to create a camera out of a reclaimed light tight object that we will provide. Then we will experiment with the cameras, introducing purposeful motion blur and “ghost” imaging (ala spirit photography) and incorporating photograms into your images.

Pinhole photography is a very accessible style of image-making that can be practiced without having a full darkroom set-up. This workshop will show by example how you can create beautiful, artistic images in a space as small as a closet or bathroom.

Workshop fee: $20, all materials included!

If you already have a pinhole camera – bring it! You can use the workshop time with Dale Rio to experiment with different techniques!You may bring objects to incorporate such as negatives, photograms, costumes, and anything else that will get your creative juices flowing! The Resource Exchange will also be open during the workshop, so you’re welcome to purchase any additional objects that you’d like to incorporate from our warehouse full of reclaimed and salvaged arts materials.
