reCreate Featured Artist Reception: Nell Stifel

Sunday, June 14th 2:00-4:00

Please join us on Sunday, June 14th 2015 from 2pm – 4pm for a reception for reCreate Featured Artist Nell Stifel. Nell has a long, established career in the fine arts as well as a career as a scenic paint charge in the local film industry. She and many other local artists just lost their studio spaces due to a roof collapse of a building in our neighborhood, so they are now faced with trying to relocate their work before it gets ruined by the elements. We here at The Resource Exchange are pleased to offer a month long sale to help get some of her work that survived the accident out in the world. Many years worth of beautiful works by Nell will be on display and for sale throughout the month of June. Fine art enthusiasts and collectors on a budget should not miss this opportunity!

Nell Stiffel is a local artist who graduated from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts 1988, and has since been working in the movie business as a Scenic Charge in United Scenic Artists Local 829. She has worked on over 40 film and television productions, painting scenery for major motion pictures like Silver Linings Playbook, The Lovely Bones, The Royal Tenenbaums and Pollock.

“I work closely with the Production Designer, organizing the materials, techniques, schedule and personnel to expedite the designer’s vision for the movie sets. No two jobs are the same; the work is challenging, never boring.”

Her paintings and drawings have also been exhibited in many group shows including the Painted Bride Art Center, Highwire Artists Gallery, Da Vinci Art Alliance, and Manayunk Art Center.
