Art-A-Matic presents: Introduction to Pinhole Photography with Alex Orgera

Saturday August 6th, 10am-1pm

Learn how to make and use your own camera out of reusable objects in this introduction to the art of pinhole photography. With roots earlier than the dawn of photography itself, pinhole photography is still enjoyed by artists for its simplicity of use and the uniquely expressive imagery it creates. Suitable for anyone, regardless of previous photo experience, this workshop will help you optimize your camera construction and learn how to expose unique images on positive photographic paper. Basically any container, with a little bit of matte black spray paint on the inside and black tape to seal up cracks and edges, can become a camera – even a vintage suitcase! We will provide a few empty containers or you can feel free to bring your own (oatmeal containers, thick shoeboxes, coffee cans, and tea tins all work well). Or you can shop for unique containers from the reclaimed inventory at The Resource Exchange!

workshop fee: FREE!
