For the last six weeks, we had the privilege of hosting Youku Kasselie a Fellow from Liberia, through the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, the flagship program of the Young African Leaders Initiative. Youku Kasselie is a teacher who is passionate about life, and thereby works to engage communities in waste reduction by transforming materials such as plastic bottles and other materials into crafts. We were thrilled when Kara Rossi, teacher at PlayArts, contacted us to set up a visit to The Resource Exchange with their summer campers. PlayArts is a beautiful child-centered arts and play space for infants through young children located on Front Street in Fishtown. Their facility offers educational enrichment, group classes and private music lessons for children and their parents.
