From Film to Theater – Found Fringe Style!

Found Theater Company often uses salvaged, reclaimed, and reused materials to make the sets and props of their productions, photo shoots, and video trailers. Not only is the reuse of material more economical for a smaller company, but it’s also way better for the environment than buying new. reCreate Workshop turns Discards into Art!

Around this time last summer, reCreate Featured Artist Stephen Milner hosted a Mixed Media and Assemblage workshop in our store that focused on collaging with salvaged and reclaimed materials. Stephen is a long time Resource Exchange customer and donor. He often uses salvaged materials from the re in his intricate collage works and also donates materials of all kinds to the store for other artists and makers to reuse. The Art of Play and Sustainability

We were thrilled when Kara Rossi, teacher at PlayArts, contacted us to set up a visit to The Resource Exchange with their summer campers. PlayArts is a beautiful child-centered arts and play space for infants through young children located on Front Street in Fishtown. Their facility offers educational enrichment, group classes and private music lessons for children and their parents.
